DLIA MEMBERSHIP UPDATE by
Terri Miller, Vice President
Diamond Lake Improvement Association (DLIA) has very loyal and active members every year who work hard to protect our lake for generations to come. The members donate annually for dues, milfoil, fireworks, the fish feeding program, and some note for “whatever is needed.” For the membership year 2006-2007, we have received $6,885.00 for dues, $3,117.50 for milfoil, $1387.00 for the fish pen, $245.00 for “other”, and $50.00 for fireworks. Thank you for these donations and for your continued support.
With the exception of 2005, which had 250 memberships, paid membership has been increasing over the past years from 189 in 2000 to 284 for the 2006-2007 year with the majority of members paying soon after membership reminders are mailed in May. Since there are many more permanent residents at the lake than in years past, this should continue. If you have a new neighbor, encourage them to join or as some people have done in the past, buy a gift membership for them to welcome them to the neighborhood. Membership notices will again be mailed in May for membership beginning August 1, 2007 to July 31, 2008.
As well as membership notices, the newsletter committee and volunteers produce and mail a newsletter five times a year. Last year, approximately 589 newsletters were mailed each time. We no longer receive an updated address listing from Diamond Lake Water and Sewer district, and there have been many ownership changes. So, please verify your current address and the address of any new neighbors if possible. You may email your changes to terrim@starband.net, or mail to DLIA, PO Box 889, Newport, WA 99156.
Please let us know of any changes as soon as possible so we may keep you informed.
