No Wake Zone in West Bay

 

 

The West Bay Homeowners Association has completed the dredging project and would like to preserve the effort by proposing that a “No Wake Zone” be established within the bay.  There would be buoys placed across the bay to show where the “No Wake Zone” would be enforced.  The map below shows the approximate location of the buoys.  The number of buoys suggested is five or less.  The distance would be approximately 600 feet along the line shown.  This would not hinder access to the bay at low speeds and the buoys will be large enough (19” in diameter, 30” tall) and white in color to be easily seen at night.  The association has gone through the legal requirements but was asked to poll the lake residences prior to final approval of the county commissioners.  The information and diagram should be studied and any comments both for and against can be sent to the Planning Department at this address:
