June 16th Lake Clean-up "On The
Water"
The 1st annual "On The Water" lake cleanup was a huge success!
Tom "Wounded Leg"
VandeVanter worked with Jack Graham (Boy Scout Ranger) to work out the location
for the project, secured a 30 yard dumpster from Excess Disposal and lined up
Mark Bockemuehl owner of Ambex
for the track hoe and dump truck, in conjunction with Arlie, owner of Bacon
Excavation. Great job running the track hoe Arlie and thank you for spending
the entire-day from 7:00am to 5:00pm!
Tom and I put together a
group of volunteers and we had some folks join in with the cleanup effort when
they heard about the project that day. We pulled at least a dozen old docks out
of the lake, along with chairs, carpeting, cans & bottles. You name it, we
found it. Jack setup a burn pile for all
the burnable wood debris that will be burned at a later time. We completely
filled the 30 yard dumpster and have a couple decks of old dock logs to be
disposed of.
Special thanks to Tom
VandeVanter, Jack Graham, Jared Hoadley, Mark Zabawa, Tom Metzger, Cliff Snow, Paul & Connie Moore,
Dan Little, Bob & Pam Tully and Jerry & Maria Senn. Thanks to Doug
& Joan Morgan for bringing down orange juice and muffins, great timing
& greatly appreciated!
This was a huge effort by
everyone involved. The tulies look great, let's keep
it that way. Please don't dump your old docks and debris, it's not a junk yard,
it's our lake! Thank you!
