FIREWORKS
By Jeff Taylor
The 4th of July fireworks show went off without a hitch this year! The show this year was fired for the first time electronically and cost the Association $5000. At 8:00 AM on the morning of the 4th, Jared Hoadley, Tom VandeVanter, Mark Zabawa, Rob Rickard and Jeff Taylor moved the fireworks dock from Boy Scout Bay into position. Then EFI, the company that the Association contracted with to do the show could load the dock with the fireworks. Mark Havener, FD #3 and the Pend Oreille County Marine Patrol were then contacted to check the dock setup.
Helping with the positioning of the dock before the show were Jared and Colleen Hoadley and kids, along with Jeff and Austin Taylor. The show began at 10 PM and lasted approximately 15 minutes. Once the show ended the dock was pulled back to Boy Scout Bay to be off-loaded.
A Big Thank You goes to Jared and Colleen Hoadley for helping to reposition and clean the dock on the morning of the 5th. Thank You to Rod Taylor for supplying the Felt covering for the dock. A special thanks goes to Kent Anderson ( EFI) and his two helpers for the great job they did. Thanks to the boaters on the water for keeping clear while the show was underway.
